A heritage of integrity and professionalism.
The roots of Duncan Lawrie were established some 150 years ago when two distinguished managing agents and Scotsmen, Alexander Lawrie and Walter Duncan, made their way to Calcutta from Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively.

High in the hills of north-east India, in the remote Cachar District of Bengal, pioneering Victorian planters established a small and seemingly insignificant tea garden called Sephinjuriy Bheel.
50 years ago, the Camellia Group we see today started to flourish, having taken stakes in two managing agents and doyens of the Indian tea industry, Alexander Lawrie & Co and Walter Duncan & Goodricke.
More recently, in 2006, Duncan Lawrie acquired asset management specialist Douglas Deakin Young: and, in 2007, acquiring Hill Martin (Asset Management) Limited.
